My First Ball Python *Pics Inside*

Here is my first Ball Python....Just recently i discored a few mites on the snake and is now under going a months worth of QT from the advice of many people on here.

But here are some lousy cell phone pictures a couple weeks after i got Mitch.

As of right now im adding insulation to the backs and sides of the tank and waiting to add some vegatation and climbing accessories when i put normal substrate back in the tank...

Also is freezing aspen bedding a good way to prevent mites?

    Nice looking snake!

I never got mites from aspen. You can only get mites from aspen if you're buying from a pet store that has mites that are getting into the bags.

Didn't you say you got mites from handling pet store snakes?

Ya thats how i think i got the mites, i just want to make sure i want to be extra catious i dont want this problem to just arrise again...

and Mitch is very curious Ihandle him a lot and seems to like it alot...he doesnt hide that much and seems quite active during the day/night.. kinda weird since their nocturnal and all.....

He does get scared when im handeling him and there is other people around but when its just me and him he does whatever and has never been scared, at least to my knowledge on his body language...

Nice looking guy! And I like the name!

Out of curiosity, how are your temps? Sometimes they are overactive like that if the floor temp is off.
