    eye condition? please help!

i've only had kash for about a week & a half. he was a failed breeder because he has something the seller called 'bug eyes'. i am not able to locate any information about this in BPs, just mainly rat snakes. Today i noticed he has what looks like a 'dent' in his one eye. i do not know how long it has been this way, it may have been like that since before i even obtained him. does anyone have any information either on his 'bug eye' condition or this possible 'dent' that i see? i plan on seeing my vet ASAP, but just wanted to get a little info until then. thank you!

hard to tell. do you have a larger picture? it might help someone be able to give you more experienced advice if they could see it better.

    I have a Kashmire!

Anyway, the dent in the eye is usually a sign of dehydration. Make sure your humidity is at least 50% at all times, and bump it to about 70% when he goes into shed and it "should" correct itself.

great thank you! this is my first reptile let alone BP so i'm afraid i am being overly paranoid! for the first week i had a real hard time getting my temp & humidity just right but i finally got it under control last weekend. my humidity has been staying about 55-60. so do you feel a vet visit is still necessary? he has been eating like a champ for me (so far, hasn't been that long tho! lol) and he seems to be acting normal otherwise. i will DEFINITELY take him in if need be, but if not an emergency i'd like to try to wait. thanks again for your help!

Of course, I'm not there to see him in person - but I don't believe that you need to take him in to the vet just yet.

Of course, it's always nice when taking in an older animal to get a vet check on him - make sure he's free of internal parasites, etc.

thank so much! i was really starting to panic there for awhile, i'm just extremely anal when it comes to my pets lol! luckily there are 2 drs at my regular vet clinic that see reptiles so i called & of course they urged me to get him in since it might be a certain 'condition' but the vet tech couldn't remember the name. i just want to make sure he's not in any pain, but i still plan on getting him in for a full check up soon. i made an appt for saturday, i'm still debating on taking him or not. this pay is rent & bill but of course i'd probably feel better if i took him in..i just want to be a good snake mommy!

My ball just has a left eye thats usually dented. He's fine besides that. In some sheds the dent comes out, only to return a couple sheds later. I tried everything from raising the humidity to trying a damp Qtip to *gently* iron out the dent. My vet said he's just prone to having a dented left eyeball and it's not really a big deal.
It makes him look like a doofus though
