snake poo and no shed...

Going on 6 weeks and not eating... he turned blu-ish...soaked him (4 or 5 days ago) but never shed... upped the humidity... cleaned his tank and found a very smallish greenish poo... where when he ate regularly they were the size of cat poo and looked like one too ... so wondered if this might be a normal poo after not eating... still looking for a vet in my area so dont have anyone to take it to to check...

He is still very active... sure looking hard (for a girl we suspect)... any ideas why he may have stopped his shed and what about that poo??? Sorry for all the poo talk...

Pandora had the opposite last week... shed but no poo until the day after. Mind you though, she got lazy this shed and didn't even rub up against anything to get the shed off. I found her in her hide with half the shed coming off. They might take their time but they won't forget to shed. You can even keep soaking him until it encourages him to get it off. I'm sure he's fine. Just let us know how it goes.

If you soak pre-shed you will probably cause problems with the shedding process. You only want to soak post-shed to get off the access shed that he missed.

If it was that early in the cycle, it may not have affected anything, so just wait and see. After he turns blue he'll turn clear, then shed a few days after that. The clear stage is of a special fluid filling up in between the new and old skin preparing it to be shed off.

Actually, the fluid fills up during the blue stage and is the cause of the bluing and opaqueness. Just wanted to clarify for OP.

Yes... knowing he should shed in a few days after turning blue... I am still trying to figure out why he has not... is it related to his hormones and becoming sexually mature?

And what about the change in color of his poo? Just left over stuff ? since there hasnt been anything digested in weeks....?

The greenish poo you are talking about may very well be just a urate. My girl seems to pass one every 7-15 days (she has had a few that were alittle on the light green side), and poops maybe once every 3-4 weeks if that.

If it is infact poo and it is greenish, keep an eye on the next one and make sure its not running/watery. That could be a sign of internal parasites.
