Breeding question?
Is it normal for a pair of ball pythons to stay locked together for three days without separating?

Re: Breeding question?
I bet they unlocked and then re-locked when you weren't looking!!
On the other hand, mine just went for 12 hours in a lock!!

Re: Breeding question?
It happens, some stay locked longer than others. 3 days is the most I have seen personally.

This is what happens if a female get pulled apart from the male. This girl (western hognose) startled and bolted, ripping the male out of her. She was cut up pretty bad internally and had to take a year off of breeding.

Holy S***. That must have hurt. But I know your not suppose to rip them apart. After I wrote my last message, I went to check on them and they had stopped mating. So I went ahead and separated them. Now I'm going to put them together again on Friday.
