    Uth...

    what is everyone's opinion on lining the back of a UTH with aluminum foil? on other forums i've seen some people say it helps reflect heat into the enclosure.

    I don't think it makes a huge difference as far as reflecting heat. The heat can just as easily be dissipated out of the other side of the foil facing away from the enclosure floor.

    I use foil tape to attach flexwatt to the enclosure. The flexwatt conducts heat better because it has better contact with the floor of the enclosure, not because the tape is foil. Foil is used because UTHs get so hot that other tape materials could be a fire hazard.

    Try lining your UTH with foil and record the before & after results. I don't think you'll see much of a temp increase, if any.
