The hazards of trick or treating...

We were doing very well trick or treating last night, and just going to a couple more houses. The kids were running ahead, and then all of a sudden my husband hears a splat and then crying. Apparently my son did not see a retaining wall for a sunken driveway and fell 4 feet. He got a bad scrape on his right knee and left elbow, but all in all he looked fine. So we didn't think anything was off. (next year everyone gets their own flashlight ) He walked into the living room this morning, although a bit stiffly. Then he informed us he wasn't up to going to a birthday party.... HUH?!?! My child does NOT miss birthday parties. So we take him into the clinic and apparently he's managed to break his knee cap. DOH!!! Poor thing is in a soft cast now, but goes in on Monday to an specialist. So I'd appreciate any prayers, vibes and good thoughts I can get for him.

Cause when push comes to shove you taste what you're made of
You might bend, till you break cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up decide you've had enough
You get mad you get strong wipe your hands shake it off
    Then you Stand

oh...my...god... Broken Knee Cap! O-U-C-H ack my knee hurts just reading that! When I was a kid I fell into a empty pool and fell, bounced and landed on my knee, that was the worst pain I have ever felt to date. Breaking it can only be 10 times worst! Buy him a video game for me

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

I cracked mine almost in half when I was around 12. Word of warning if it is still puffy when you go to the specialist they will probably need to drain it. They got 3 huge tubes of fluid and blood out of mine the first visit. Good luck and mine healed up fine.
