Glass Tank Insulation

Well yesterday I finally had some time to work on the tank!!

*I cleaned the tank out first
*Prepped the tank with painters tape (I prepped 3 sides)
*Spray painted the sides with Flat Black paint
*After drying; used double sided tape and put a layer of aluminum foil down followed by foam board

Super simple... just took me awhile because i wanted everything to line up nicely!!!!

oh yeah.... does anyone have a solution for water spots that would be non toxic??? as you can see in the last pic I cant get them removed

For water spots, soak the area of the tank in white distilled vinegar and use a scrubby side of a sponge and they should come right off.

Don't know if you can get it where you are but this stuff called CLR helps get rid of calcium build up. Just rinse well afterwards

if not you can also order clr on line. they also have commercials all of the time for all of the products they have. i cleaned mine with 5 gallons of water with 5% bleach mixed. then dried it with newspaper now its spot free.

vinegar and a paper towel have worked for me. A streak free window cleaner with amonia would work, just air it out very well.
