    Whats going on

My pair of royals mated in febuary she started lumping up then nothing, she shed on 11th august and the next day she ovulated, i have never seen this before but i could'nt mistake it she was huge and her tail was sucked in, she shed again on the 10th september and has not eaten since which is unusual for her, she is also gettng fat and keeps striking at me,i know all this does'nt add up whats going on.

I hope she is never bred them before, but i have read all the books and care sheets going and they all say they breed, lump up, ovulate then 40 to 50 days later they lay and its been about 70 days since she ovulated, its all very confusing.

If your sure shes gravid and it has been that long I'd take her to the vet make sure shes not egg bound

As i said i have never bred them before so i dont know if shes gravid or not, i only noticed her putting weight on over the last few weeks, i weighed her today and she has gained 200g in 3 months.

    Re: Whats going on

If you want piece of mind you can see if your vet has ultra sound and have them do an ultra sound on her. That way if she is gravid it ultra sound will not hurt the developing embryos like x-ray could. Also a pregnancy test is normally a fairly inexpensive procedure that people do for their dogs and cats. If your vet does not have an ultrasound machiene they should be able to refer you to a vet that does have one.
