    Exclamation close call!

well, i had a close call tonight with my pastel Winston. i'm not sure for how long, which is almost the scariest part, but he escaped from his cage (-gasp-). my boyfriend says he remember thinking to himself a day or so ago that it didn't look like he was in there. so tonight, i went to check his water, and he was no where in there! the lid was still on, so he must have pushed it up and slid out. which means he's super strong cause i had a weight on it, lol. anyway; i was freaking out and couldn't find him anywhere. finally, i looked around the book case that his cage is on top of, and he had squeezed himself between the top of some books and the underside of the above shelf, directly under his heating pad. crazy stuff! i'm counting my lucky stars for even getting him back, considering how long he could have been out of the cage. thank you, whatever holy and mighty snake god there may be.

Glad you got him back. To prevent this from happening in the future, go to your local pet store and get some clips for the tank- it sounds like you have an aquarium with a screen top? Well, they carry little clips that snap on and off for only a couple dollars. And voila! No more escapes!

Glad he didn't go far. My year old corn escaped in early September, no sign of him! It's not nice not knowing whats happened to him

    Glad you found him.

I'm always scared one of my snakes will go right for the heating ducts and get in there. So far not had any incidences but it's always a concern.
