    Folded Skin?

So i bought a baby ball about 1.5 months ago, the first snake i've owned before. he was completely healthy: eating once a week, active, drinking and such, and handled every day almost. So his first shed comes along about two weeks after i got him and i assumed it was a crappy shed because the pieces were all over his enclosure, but i also assumed that it was a full shed, i think i was wrong. Now about 3 weeks later, from the start of his neck to about 4 inches down, his skin folds, basically really loose skin. I've read that this is signs of dehydration, but i don't think this can be because its only at the start of his body, and he drink a lot. So i guess it must be a stuck shed that just didn't come off, and appears to make him have more skin? I've soaked him for an hour a day for the past three days, and a some shed came off, but the folds obviously aren't gone... Any suggestions

    To dumb it down:

-He had a bad first shed
-I assumed it was a full shed so i didn't soak him during his shed because i didn't know it was a stuck shed ( first snake )
    - Now he has foldy loose skin from the start to 4inches down his neck
    - Anybody experienced this,.. any suggestions?

also im concerned what would happen with his next shed if i can't get these folds to go away, i'm guessing he just won't be able to shed?..

I wouldn't know too much about this because I just got my first BP but she had REALLY saggy skin the day right before she shed. And then she was fine.

I was freaking out too when I first got my BP because I noticed her neck skin getting super loose. Then after a few days she shed and everything tightened back up.

As far as the skin staying loose AFTER shedding, that could be a sign of dehydration/nutrition issues, but not for sure. She could just have loose skin.

As far as the stuck shed, I don't think stuck shed would cause extra wrinkles and folds.

    Re: Folded Skin?

I saw a BP at PETCO tonight that looked exactly as you describe
He was in a very bad shed. Biggest piece of shed in the cage was the size of a dime and the snake looked bad.

Of course humisity was 40% and the temp was at 74, but the girl who is the certified reptile associate said that what they need.

I am sorry if I am telling you something you already know but....

The humidity needs to be up around 70% when they are in shed and 50-60% the rest of the time.

Triple check your husbandry and makes sure everything is ok and the next shed should go over very well
