Re: holey moley! i got eggs
First of all it shows you most vets cant sex a Ball python. I showed my vet how to do it LOL.
You need to keep the humidity up pretty high and you want the eggs at like 88-90 degrees. That is the tricky part. Using some moss should help. What are you using for heat?

Another reason not to keep two snakes in one enclosure.
Don't panic. If you have the temps and humidity in the bin at the right numbers, you could try letting her incubate the eggs herself.

Re: holey moley! i got eggs
temp is 88 humid @ 65%. Is this enough?? I plan to try and place some moss around her coils later today after work. She is not real happy with anyone going near her. Huffs and puffs and prepares for a strike. I have a feeling I am going to get bit for the fist time tonight.
I am going to let her incubate. Nature is a wonderfull thing and she would have done it in the wild.

Re: holey moley! i got eggs
One of the problems with her incubating is she wont eat while on the eggs. I hope you took the other snake out because that will stress her out more.
I would shoot for 80-90% RH. Making an incubator with a cooler/ice chest, heat tape and a tstat is pretty easy and will give you better odds of sucess. That said there are those who let mom incubate but it definately involves alot more work and maintenance.

Check this out: http://www.degei.com/supportfiles/howto/inc/index.htm. This was posted by a member and is a really clear and easily followed path to a cooler incubator...

Re: holey moley! i got eggs
i picked up a commercial incubator from the local feed store. It is holding at 95% humid and 89.3 degrees.
The eggs did not fully seperate. I have a few smaller clumps. Mom is pissed and the kidz are now in a proper incubator.
Funny...
I need to change Ben's name....
Anyhow. The eggs were not rolled as to not move the contents. I read about how the air bubble will attach itself to the inner shell and if it rotates the baby is toast.
I used moss under the eggs for now as no one has vermiculite. Is there any issues with using moss as a substrate when incubating?
Thanks to all who talked me off the ledge!

Congrats on your first eggs.. Keep a close eye on the temps and humidity. Good luck, now you have the longest wait EVER.
