    49 foot python?

I stumbled on this 4 year old article

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3845750

    49 feet.. 983 lbs..

Really?? I mean, it's msnbc so I don't think they would purposefully lie about the size, but its size was reported to them by "local government officials" I assume.

Has this been shown to be a hoax? It's an old article so I wouldn't be surprised.

Sadly it wasnt even half that size. Some one actually managed to buy it from them and when they measured it, it was barely 20 feet. And the only reason why the villagers sold it, was so they could go out and find a bigger one.

That's not even close to 49 feet. How could anybody see a picture and not be able to tell the scale?

They couldn't find a tape measure, so they used their tiny feet

i like how it says they've been known to attack and consume humans... i wasn't aware one had every consumed a person.

regardless, that's a big snake to find in the wild!

I posted this video long ago. Still, it's a nice sized snake. Not close to what they are saying it is.

I think there has been total of one person, a young kid, consumed by a retic. In the wild you will find some very pissy ones.

I think somewhere in this forum there is a story of an African Rock Python consuming a small boy.
