    Is this a bacterial infection?

    Hi, everyone.

Is this a bacterial infection? If it is, what is the best way to treat it?

Its on the left side of my BP's neck.

Thanks for the advice in advance

How long has it been like that? Is it spreading? If it is an infection, the snake will most likely need medication. You might want to think about taking it to a vet.

Looks like a bite to me.

If you aren't feeding live then someone else will have to make a guess.

I'll say either a bite make OR if your snake has just recently shed, then it could be a few dried up scales that didn't comes off with the rest of the shed. Have you tried letting the snake soak in some warm water for a few minutes to see if it comes off, or softens up?

    thanks for the replies, everyone

yes, it was a bite (panicked noob here).

I showed the snake to a more experienced boid keeper who pointed out that there were corresponding marks underneath the ones in the photograph.

    thanks again
