    aggresive during breeding season????

I was wondering if breeding season could possibly make my female aggressive. My first bp happens to be a female not quite large enough to breed yet about 1300 grams. Well I noticed lately she has been very aggressive. She has always been very very docile and lately when I am opening her tub for cleaning or water etc, she has tried to tag me everytime. She actually bit my girlfriend last night. Its almost like she is in a permanent feeding mode. Anyone else experience this I just find it very strange. thanks. (I think shes jealous cus her boyfriend has been locking up with another female of mine lol.)

I really hope females don't get aggressive during breeding season, but either way that can't be good.

Shes the only one non of my other snakes well females in particular are acting different but I was just curious if anyone else has had an animal get aggressive around breeding season or if they may have some idea as to why shes doing this.

Breeding season is coming and she is looking to eat as much as she can before it is time to breed. That should be your first indicator that it is almost time. Even some of my picky females are eating great right now. If your female is 1300 grams now and in feed mode she should breed this year with no problem.

And if you don't plan on breeding?

Feed her as if you are. There's a huge difference between aggression and a strong feeding response.

The only time I ever got tagged was by a snake that had been underfed for a very long time. Once I got her on a good feeding schedule she just started striking everything in sight. I still need to feed her before I pre-scent or she will leap right out of her tub at me.
