We just recently got a 1600g male pastel who we want to breed with our 1800g proven het pied female. I don't know what to expect though being as this is our first pastel and it's a co'dominant trait right? Since he's not super, I don't know what to think. HELP! What can I expect from this clutch?? Thanks!

All the babies will be possible het's and every egg has a 50% shot at being a pastel. You guys beat me to it... 50% het pieds.

They would be 50%. I had to go back and add that to my original post because I knew that would be your next question lol!

Why wait? Any pastels you produce may "only " be a 50% possible het, but think of it this way... it's a coin toss whether you produce a Pastel Het Piebald or just a Pastel. They either will be or they won't.

Exactly! Regardless of whether they end up proving out as het pieds or not, it's still a pastel female. You can never have enough of those.
