Question F/T - How long can you keep them and when to go to next biggest size

We feed our normal BP f/t mice. we been buying them from petsmart 6 in a cup and usually costs us about 10 bucks. But we are looking into buying online and having them shipped. I was reading another thread that most use bigcheeserodents.com, they sell for 50 in a bag I think, which means they last longer and probably cheaper.

I know that you can dethaw it once and refreeze and try again, then discard that mouse if they dont eat it the 2nd time. But in general how long do they keep in the freezer?

Also when we bought him/her we fed pinkies and then upgraded to fuzzies, he doesnt even have to unlock his jaws to eat the fuzzies now, should we upgrade to hoppers or small?

In a vacuum packed bag they can last for a pretty long time in your freezer -- but if you are only feeding one or two snakes a mouse a week -- then you probably don't want to get a 50 pack of mice as they will only last a couple of weeks to a month once you break the seal you can try putting them in a freezer bag or buying a vacuum sealer to reseal them to extend the shelf life - but in general your 50 pack will get all freezer burned and go bad before you're done feeding them off.

As for the prey size -- a fuzzy or hopper mouse might be fine for getting them started but past their first few meals they are usually good for adult mice or rat pups.

when you order them online do they come individually sealed or is the whole shipment in one big bag?

when i get them at petsmart they are individually wrapped in a small ziplock style bag, then in a bigger cup

I don't use Big Cheese but from my experience - the companies that vacuum pack usually put them all in one package and vacuum seal them together.

    Kinda like this:
