How much is too much in regards to feeding.

I seem to have a strange happening going on with my pythons. I have 3 BPs all around the same age. Two of them eat large mice and seem to be the same size as their siblings that the local breeder has. They never miss a meal, and I feed them once every 5 days. They are all about 4 months old.

The oddball python I have (male) is twice as long as my other two snakes, weighs twice as much and eats rats. He is also the youngest by a couple weeks. I used to feed him in a separate container but had to quit as he gets too excited when mice and rats are in the house and thinks everything is food. I literally cannot touch him on feeding days if rodents are in the house. When he sees me approach the cage, he comes out and begs like a dog. He will follow me around the cage as I move about the room. He used to just do this on feeding days, but now about 3 days after feeding day, he is out and about following me. Could he possibly be hungry after 3 days?

Why is he growing so fast? Does he need additional food because of his growth rate?

I have an enormous one year old female. I don't know what's up with her but I just follow the same feeding guidlines as with all the others (girth sized prey once a week). She's always hungry and I'm just fine with that.

if he is growing that fast i would not give him any more, stick to the diet hes on.seems he is pretty normal.as for the other 2 possibly they have parasites restricting there growth.it wouldnt hurt to get some panacur from your local vet and treat the 2 smaller ones.how much do they weigh?

They dont have parasites. They are normal sized as they are the same size as other snakes their age.

is he fat, can you still make out his spine or is it all just rounded like a hot dog lol
you might offer him larger food if he,s able to take it, in proportion to his middle
also if your temps are real high he can digest real fast
my males kinda fat atm im gettin him ready to breed so ive been
feeding him smaller than usual rats
Ive Killed More Rats than D-Con!!

they are all babies and it seems that the one has a more agressive feeding response than the other. just keep them on the same schedule and they will grow how theyre supposed to grow. i think your doing things fine and shouldnt worry about it.
