I seem to have a strange happening going on with my pythons. I have 3 BPs all around the same age. Two of them eat large mice and seem to be the same size as their siblings that the local breeder has. They never miss a meal, and I feed them once every 5 days. They are all about 4 months old.
The oddball python I have (male) is twice as long as my other two snakes, weighs twice as much and eats rats. He is also the youngest by a couple weeks. I used to feed him in a separate container but had to quit as he gets too excited when mice and rats are in the house and thinks everything is food. I literally cannot touch him on feeding days if rodents are in the house. When he sees me approach the cage, he comes out and begs like a dog. He will follow me around the cage as I move about the room. He used to just do this on feeding days, but now about 3 days after feeding day, he is out and about following me. Could he possibly be hungry after 3 days?
Why is he growing so fast? Does he need additional food because of his growth rate?
