    Bloody Mess

Hi guys, today I tried to feed my little corn and he took it at first but then dropped it and it was really bloody and messy. Then I tried to move him so I could pick up the pinky, and he hit his tail against the side of the tank trying to sound like a rattler. So it was a waste of a pinky, but oh well

Did he eat the mouse eventually? Or were you able to get it out?

As for the tail rattling thing. I looked at your previous posts, and it looks like your snake is pretty new. So while i might suggest knocking off the sissy act and just reaching in and doing what you have to do - with a new snake that may be stressed out, i'd wait a little longer and just chalk up the odd behavior to the stress of a new home. If he's doing the same behavior in a month or two, i'd just reach in...with tongs!

    good luck!

My corn always does the tail rattle thing when feeding. She always eats what she gets though. If you don't want to reach in just use tongs and be quick about it If it's in a tub you can put a barrier between your hand and the snake using the lid of the tub.
