Re: jags?
it is most definitely a morph... it's a cornerstone of the carpet morphs. kinda like the pastel or spider is to balls.

Re: jags?
As Colin said, yes it is definitely a morph. The jaguar mutation originated in the coastal carpet python, and has since been bred into just about every subspecies and type of carpet. It is a "co-dom" morph and breeding a jag to a normal results in half jags and half normals, or sibs (short for jaguar siblings). Two jaguars bred together produce a super jag, which is a leucistic carpet python. Unfortunately, no luecistics have made it past a few weeks of life. Some kind of lethal mutation involved. There are some beautiful jags out there.

Re: jags?
thanks for clearing that up...
I've always liked carpets but i just got my first a couple weeks ago. and come to find out all the addiction rumors are true:-) I love the jag pattern and im also a huge fan of stripes, I know petersonreptiles has striped coastals but doe anyone know of breeders that have tigers and other striped carpets. I knew a guy that had an awesome nearly solid striped jungle and I loved it, have yet to find another one though. thanks for the help:-)
