    Cypress Mulch Blend???

I was wondering where everyone gets their cypress mulch?? I got a bag from Lowes and it's a blend. I tried to find out what it is blended with but have had no luck.. If anyone knows what it's blended with let me know. The name of it is Timberline Cypress Mulch Blend, Eco-Friendly Blend.. I don't want to use it if it has pine in there.. So let me know what you guys think..

    Re: Cypress Mulch Blend???

Most of the brands I've seen at home depot are blends with pine. I think some pure cypress may be available at the beginning of the season, but I didn't find any recently.

    Re: Cypress Mulch Blend???

Thanks for the replies.. I'll have to look for the no float all cypress. I only have a Lowes in town. I'll have to go to the next town over for a Home Depot.. I bought that blend but I'm not going to chance using it. I can't find any info on it. I even went to the companies website but didn't find what it was blended with.. Again thanks for the help..

Check the bag but if this is the same company, just give them a call and ask what type of wood is in that "blend" or ask them to confirm it's not pine or cedar in with that cypress.

I have been getting mine from Ace Hardware, under $4 a bag and I treat it all with BKII before I use it in any cage.

All that blended stuff.... has a lot of pine in it... and it is bad pine. Not kiln dried or anything.... just normal shredded pine. Exactly what you don't want to use.

I used the no float. You can cook it in an oven, or freeze it over a week in a deep freezer to kill whatever bugs might be in it....

Recomended solution: forget the mulch. use newspaper as your substrate.
