    Aspen bedding

Who uses aspen bedding? where are some good websites to buy it off of?

I have been using newspaper for quite some time but I'm going to switch over to aspen for the winter.

I usually just by mine at the pet store. Either Petco or Petland.

I used reptibark and it was ok but didn't absorb moisture so I switched to aspen. I just get it from my local pet store.

Shows tend to have it in large bulks.

But the petstore in the small mammal section should have plenty. ;]

    Re: Aspen bedding

I tried switching to aspen a couple of weeks after getting my BP. Looks better and figured it would be better than the thin green liner the pet store had in the tank (package deal). My BP seemed to hate it, wouldn't even touch it while exploring. I switched back to the green liner for now. Are BPs known for finickiness or did I just not give enough chance to adjust-left it in about a week? Any comments welcome.

    ps. my BP's a yearling.

Reptile carpets are nasty substrate. They are a major pain to clean and impossible to spot clean. They are also bacteria lovers.

I'm not sure I understand how he doesn't touch it.
Put it in his cage and take out anything that could elevate him (branches and such) for a week or so.
I've never heard of a problem with adapting to aspen before.

    Re: Aspen bedding

You can find aspen also through some feed and tack or farm supply stores sold for use in a horse's stall. That's your best deal most likely. Just make sure with any natural bedding you buy that it's what you think it is and not one of those "mixed bedding" which tends to have pine or cedar mixed in.
