    Radian Heat panel (RHP)

I would like some info on radiant heat panels but I am having a hard time finding just the info I want.

What other heat sources are needed with these?

Do they provide the heat gradient that reptiles need to thermo-regulate?

If you have used them before let me know.

I am very interested in getting a cage with the RHP installed but I just don't know enough about them.

I plan on buying a 2X3 cage from reptile basics as I have heard nothing but good things about these people.

If some one could please explain the process of using one of these and how it works I would be very grateful.

Also with the RHP on the 2X3 cage should I use the 40 or 80 watt. I just moved into my house and it has no central air and heat so I don't know how winter will be. I am going to have a radiator heater in my snake room to help keep temps up but I would just like an educated opinion. So that I dont have ot go off my ignorant guess.

    Re: Radian Heat panel (RHP)

There is a good Q&A on reptile basics.

If that doesn't explain everything, then come back and ask more questions.

    Re: Radian Heat panel (RHP)

I read that Q&A it answered a lot of my questions about this product but I am still not satisfied on the thermo-regulation aspect.

I also have looked at this heat panel. The pro-heat panel they say it will create a heat gradient, but I just don't know how it works so I am skeptical about spending money on some thing I know little about and what I do know about it, is what the company has said. I have some faith in this company because they are the producers ( unless I am mistaken) of pro-vent-a-mite, but general as a whole I do not trust cooperate anything. So if some one has used this specific panel please let me know your feed back on it.
