Talking BP Newbie with a cute Pastel

Hello there! I just joined BPnet, because I JUST got my first ball python! He's an adorable little pastel that hatched in July, and I got him from Royal Constrictor Designs. Me and my friend both ordered one since if we got a male with the female, the male was half price, and then we split it evenly. So it worked out pretty well for both of us. Anyway, this little guy arrived on Tuesday at around 3pm, even though he was SUPPOSED to arrive by 10:30am. But thats Fedex for you.

His name is Salem, and I havent handled him at all since he was put into his tank. I admit I messed with him a little to get some pics when we first opened up the box, but he's resting and getting used to things now, with no bothersome giant thing picking him up and pestering him.

Sooo, here is the box they came in

And the little cups out of the box!!

Here is Salem in his cup

And of course I had to pick him up and hold the little thing!!

    A couple cute photos

He has this really cute marking on one side that looks like a heart!

Salem with my friend's female pastel, Rynn
(mine is the smaller one on the inside)

    (Salem to the right...)

    (again, Salem to the right)

And Salem and Rynn with my friend's '07 normal, Miloh

So, tell me what you think, everyone!!

They're beautiful! However, I would caution about doing photos with your friend's snake Milo until after they have both completed their quarantine!

thanks! and yes, I know. I wouldnt let Salem touch Miloh, and she was careful with contaminating. though i know there was still the risk.

    Welcome to B-P.net!
Those are some very pretty pastels, nice choices on your part. I love that heart pattern too!

Good that you were knowledgeable about contamination, and were weary, that is a good start.
Please go and read this caresheet on ball pythons, as this seems to be your first. It's a very good read, so double check all your husbandry with it!

Good luck with your new snake!

thank you! I read the caresheet, and I'm pretty sure I'm good for the most part. I hope. I'm still learning though, so I wont just assume I'm right.

Oh cool, Congrads on the pastels!

I have bought from Garrick Demeyer once before, he has some great selections of animals.
