i know a bunch of people who start the cooling process in august(myself included) i don't see what the problem would be..although waiting a few weeks for october 1st might help you keep track of things better.

You can breed year round if you want and the snake will breed. As long as you've completed quarantine of 3 months (if one animal came into your collection later than the other one), there's no reason why you can't start breeding.

Re: would it hurt to pair my breeders now?

I don't cool intentionally - but as the house cools in fall, the temps do go down a bit on the cool side of the tubs.

Watch the girls - they will tell you when they are ready. The hang out on the cool side, wrap their water bowl and may go off food. I've already paired up 3 or 4 girls......

    Good luck!

Re: would it hurt to pair my breeders now?

I breed year round, they go when they wanna go.
I have a girl that will be laying eggs in the begining of October, she obviuosly bred during the warmer months.
I have another girl who laid in Feb.

This year I didnt cool and got the same exact results of last year when I cooled. Of course the weather change naturally cools, even here in southern cali.

Answer to your question there is nothing wrong with trying before cooling season, actually the sexual activity can help the female begin her cycle so go for it. You got nothing to loose

Re: would it hurt to pair my breeders now?

I like the idea of breeding year round For us in these northern climates, breeding earlier could eventually lead to a longer period in which babies could be shipped safer, once they start eating.
I myself am waiting till Novemberish. Because I am not yet that satisfied with how much my girls have put back on weight from laying; just not ready yet.
