    vision rack/probe placement?

I got a new rack in the mail yesterday, vision 1758. Well im not very familiar with the heat rope that are used with these racks. So my question is for anyone with experience with these, where exactly is the best place to put the probe? Which level, do i cover the entire probe with electrical tape, or just one piece of tape or what? Thanks in advance. Judd

well i run the heat rope back and forth once per level and take it frm bottom to top(remember to to not use about 2 foot from the plug it should be mark as it doesnt get hot) when all laid out i pick the center row and put the thermo probe there now keep the temps at about 94 there and it should keep all the tubs between 88 and 92 (assuming your keeping balls)
you can also go to there site or zoomeds site to get instructions

i put the probe under the tub by the rope you could snake it thru the tub but it always being moved by the snake i usually put it in the middle of where the rope starts and stops so if you have 3 rows of tubs id put it under the second row of tubs

    Re: vision rack/probe placement?

I have a few Vision racks.

What I do is tape the thermostat probe inbetween the coils of the heat rope so it is not toching the heat rope. Then I tape a thermometer probe on the inside of tub right over the heat rope to make sure it is functiong accurately. You can call Scott at Vision, he is very helpful or if you'd like I can take pics so you can see.

I have CB70's, V-35's and hatchling tubs all set up in the same rack so they can vary.

Here is a Vision link with some ways to do the heat rope, I place the probe in the middle of one of the coils in the middle of the coil formation.

    Hope this helps
