Talking He asked me why.. what do i say?

There is a reptile show coming to overland park kansas and I really really want a Mojave ball python... My dad said he would think about loaning me the money but he says he doesn't understand why I want another one. and the reason is because Kyros my normal ball python is awesome dont get me wrong. I think it must be the feeling where you have one child and that child gives you so much joy why not have another? you know? I have a new cage on stand by, and enough money and mice to go around and I have wanted a Mojave for years. What do I do? .... tell you what I'm gunna do... Do you think if i clean up my house and have them come over for a nice dinner would work. he is always complaining that our house is a mess... heh its not my fault its my boyfriends brother that lives with us... *sigh*
And I'm SOOOO excited when I think about a chance of getting another ball python I hold my breath and everything!

Okay, The dinner is a good idea but also before he gets there sit down and wright down a payment plan give him an estimated time of how long it will take you to pay him back and then do it.

The payment plan is an awesome idea -- especially if you can put in some money up front for the snake -- Mojaves were fairly reasonable at the Anaheim show down to $250 that I saw -- show him how much you have to put towards it as well as what you can pay back over time.

    Good Luck

Re: He asked me why.. what do i say?

Hey good luck with your dad. Great ideas so far. But just thought I'd let you know if you don't find what you are looking for at the Overland Park show there is another bigger one on the 28th of this month up by the Kansas City airport. Not sure how close you are but it just might be worth the drive. I posted the link to it in another tread about the Overland Park show but I'll post it here just in case.

    Again good luck!

Re: He asked me why.. what do i say?

Mojaves seem like a great snake and it could also be a great investment for you. Even (and I don't know your plans etc..) if you don't plan on breeding right away, if you find yourself a nice female mojo down the line you could breed her to your normal male and make mojo babies to sell! I think if you put it to your dad like that too he might be more willing to go along with it. I wouldn't count on making money really (and I wouldn't say to try and get a 2 year + payment plan with your dad) but you could at least make back some of the money you're putting into your snakes right now.

Re: He asked me why.. what do i say?

I wouldn't be able to say the Overland Park show would have Mojaves as they weren't what I was keeping my eye out for. But I am pretty sure the show by the airport later in the month should. I saw plenty of different morphs there. That is the show that made me change my mind from wanting a pied to wanting a bumblebee. As the bumblebee I saw up there was just HOT!

I don't know that you should try to sell it to you Dad as a money making venture. Or even imply that you could hatch babies to pay him back. Just let him know that this is something that you really want and show him that you are more than willing to pay him back.
Dad's aren't banks. There not interested in making money with you. They are only interested in your happiness.
