Feeder Size Suggestions
My spider is almost 3 months old and he's kind of in between feeder sizes. He's been eating prey close the the size of pinky and fuzzy rats. His feedings have been kind of crazy due to lack of pet stores having the proper prey.
From first to last meal has been:
5 live PR * 1 live FR * 2 live PR * 2 f/t HM
I'm about to order a pkg of 25 f/t and trying to figure out if I should go with rat fuzzies or pups. I see a lot of people feeding their bps around the same age pups. He's definitely outgrown pinky rats for sure, but I'm wondering if he's ready to move to pups. I don't want to order fuzzies and end up under feeding him half way through the package.
I was also wondering if you guys think he will put up a fuss going back to rats after having the 2 hopper mice? Thank in advance!

I would order the pups. Remember to follow the rule of thumb for feeding about the same size prey as the thickest point on the bps body.
If the pups are a little bit bigger than that, he should be fine. If your worried about it, give him 2-3 more meals on rat fuzzies, then switch to the pups.
Good luck!

Re: Feeder Size Suggestions
He's 154g empty. At his thickest part, he's right in between a fuzzy and a pup from what I can tell on internet pictures. I don't have a store that carries them, so I can't see them in person to make a good judgment.

Re: Feeder Size Suggestions
Nope, you're right that he's in between fuzzy and pup! I'd be inclined to go with a pup size and just give him the smaller ones first.

Ok, sounds good. I'll put in a order for pups tomorrow. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it!
Any thoughts on the 2 mice I fed him. Do you think that spoiled him??

Re: Feeder Size Suggestions
No, I sure hope not!!!
I have a little girl who is on live mice right now and before I accepted my temporary position of mouse rancher, I threw the left-over mouse to one of my balls. Didn't faze him when the next week he went back to f/t rats
I think all will be fine!
