    Talking Asar finally ate!

So after 2 failed attempts at feeding Asar [our royal python] frozen/thawed we decided to pick up a live baby mouse. We pre-scented our room for an hour or so, and then dropped the mouse into Asar's home... after only a few minutes Asar had struck, constricted and swallowed the little guy whole. Daniel and I are so proud. We feel so proud of our little guy. =D Next is our corn snake... we're going to try soaking its pinkie in some warm chicken broth. Wish us luck!

He looks so accomplished, with his little tum-tum full of mouse. =D I knew we should have fed live from the very beginning. How is a snake supposed to tell if a thing that has no heart beat, no real movement is food?

Pretty much the smell and heat signature of the F/T item. Its important to make sure your F/T item is warm enough to give a strong heat signature for your snake to strike at it.

Uhmm no, a pinkie is not too small for our baby corn snake. Its actually a little big for it.
