You'd get 50% possible het for Albino babies from that cross...

    They will all look normal.

When I breed for albinos, I look for BLACK/DARK animals, which will in turn, if bred down the line, will make high contrast animals.

All normals possible het for Albino.

Look for a clean animal, healthy and of good weight. if you are planning on breeding a girl, make sure she is of proper breeding weight.

Just to make sure I'm getting it right - if a normal female is bred to an albino male, would I have a chance(even a little) of getting an albino? and the rest would be 100% het, right?

    This genetics stuff is fun.

In a breeding from an Albino to a normal, you will not get albinos.

You will get all 100% hets for albino

Nop. Unless the Female is het for albino you won't get any Albino. What you wil get 50% of the hatchlings will be het for Albino.

I thought breeding a het to a normal you get 50% het, but breeding an albino to a normal all offspring will be het?
The part I wasn't sure about was getting an albino at all from that combo. Or am I completely confused?

    OKAY:

100% Het x normal = Normals and hets, each with a 50% chance of being either (and one cannot tell visually), so therefore labelled as 50% het for albino.

100% het x 100% het= 1 visual albino, 2 100% het albinos, and 1 normal out of four eggs, therefore 25%, 50% and 25% respectively. The normals and the hets are all labelled 66% het Albinos (as one cannot tell the normals from the hets visually, and they are lumped together, much like the 50% hets)

Visual x normal= 100% het albinos, ALL of them.
