    Does he smell CHICKEN?!?

I know this might sound OFF or FAR FETCHED but EVERYTIME I cook chicken, DAY or NIGHT my Male BP starts searching his encloser...Just like he does when I pre-scent the room for feedings. What do you think, does he smell the chicken or is something else causing him to search his encloser every time I happen to cook chicken?

When my snake room was closer to the kitchen I noticed that as well. Either they like the smell of cooking chicken or they were afraid I was burning down the house and running for their lives

Well mine isn't SUPER close to the kitchen, it's in the next room over but you can definitely smell the yummy meat...I think he feels the same! lol

    Re: Does he smell CHICKEN?!?

Have you ever heard of the trick of dipping a f/t mouse in chicken broth to get your ball python to eat?

It's a similar idea. If the smell of meat is strong enough for us to smell it, it's 10 times stronger to them. :]
I mean, can you smell a rat if your holding it 3 feet from your face? Not very well.

hehe i think its like like 100-500 times stronger

But it would make sense, chicken is the one meat that smells like itself cooking. hamburger has a totally different cooking smell

I would assume if every time you cook he does this, that you proved your own question true

    Yeah, about that.
But it was just an expression.
