The glow that doesn't go?

One of my females got the glow earlier this year right after her pre-ov shed. She laid on 4-22-08. But she is STILL glowing!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a female that doesn't lose the glow or lighter coloration after they lay? It's perfectly fine with me if she keeps her nice lighter coloration for as long as she wants, I just find it quite interesting.

i dont know because were just now getting a prelay shed (We think) i would however love to see some photos of her if you have them!!

Has she shed since laying? That should bring her color in

Yes--she has shed twice since she layed.

How freaky that you would start this thread today Emily! Mike and I were just talking this morning over coffee about how one of our females, Dori, has never changed back to her pre-breeding coloration (and she's shed more than once since). She went very little when she glowed and well, she's never darkened back up either.

I'll try to dig out pictures of her pre-breeding season, during glow and so forth.

Too funny! I was going to start this exact topic later today and see if anyone else has an odd won't-ever-stop-glowing girl too.

Here's Dori back in June of 07....



Again from June 07.....



We started her in with Riordan in October and by November she suddenly started to go lighter.....



and lighter....



These are from July 08 after she's laid and shed, she was a bit slow going back to eating so is still a tad thin in these pictures....







She's picked up on her eating though and is gaining back beautifully - still a lot lighter in color than she normally is. The really odd thing too is she always had a pretty faint faded head marking, now it's very obvious. I'll try a get some new pics of her next week.

shes beautiful i wouldnt be sad to see those colors stick around thats for sure
