Bit by Mouse Help!!!!

Hello,
My ball was bit a few times by his dinner last night. There was blood at first but by the time he swallowned i couldnt find any puncture wounds, or bleeding. I neeed to know if i should put anything on where i belived he was bit..like neosporin or peroxide.
Please help it was very sad i felt bad. And also the mouse was belived to be unconcious until the initial strike..

Thats why its better to feed f/t. Stunning is not a very good idea.. and im assuiming this because you said it was belived to be unconcious. Next time use a CO2 chamber to humanely kill it before feeding it off.

I think he'll be ok (maybe someone more experinsed with bites can shed some light), sounds like a minor wound... but as the prey gets bigger it may be a different case

Sometimes when feeding live,you see a lot of blood from the rodent.
If the snake is bit, put a little neosporin on it a couple of times a day for a week. Keep an eye on it. If it looks infected or is not healing, see a vet.

last week my king was struggling with her prey, and I saw some blood. I was afraid she had been bitten. I took the mouse away, and checked for bite marks... She was fine, the blood came from the mouse. So now she's on prekilled food because i don't want to risk that again...

Really? I read no aggressiveness in that, but just a very plain statement. Remember, its not always easy to tell the tone of the written word.

I do not condone the feeding of stunned rats, it's extremely painful for the animal, and much like the dog in pain that bites it's master, if the prey were to wake up, it will be extremely confused and incredibly defensive, it could do some real damage in a short amount of time. Plainly just not humane for either animal

Feeding live, the animal is unaware of the risk of danger and mostly non chalant (from what I've seen most often).

Feeding prekill, FT, or even live is best for both animals imo.

Yeah Neosporin worked wonders for our BP...he got himself with the mouse's foot. I have also notied a lot of bleeding from the mice while being constricted. The first time we fed our RTB he broke the rat's nose and had blood everywhere...I freaked, but after he ate I looked hom over and it ws nothing.

Why is it that it has to be without painkillers? I know not to use it with, but was just curious as to why.

I know of at least one that was treated with the neosporin with pain killers.
The snake healed up ok.
Pramoxine HCl is the analgesic.
