    Here in Chicago..

So this topic is about two things.

First of all, you'd think since Chicago is the 3rd largest city in the US that there would be you know.. one or two breeders or big herp keepers around.

I haven't found one, heard of one, or ANYTHING.
Please, let me know if anyone knows of any breeders in the IL/Chicagoland area. It's killin me!

Second question.. So I know about the Wheaton Chicago Reptile shows, and I know about NARBC coming to Tinley Park (I'll be there!) but a little birdie told me that there was a show in ELGIN?
That's like.. really close to my town and now I'm confused. So if anyone knows anything about that, please, do tell.

    :]

Brian Potter owner of Chicago Reptile House, probably one of the biggest breeders in Chicago. He is also the organizer of the NARBC Tinley show.

Are you close enough for this one????

I'm actually pretty excited... I'm going to Tinley park this coming October. I've actually got a room reserved and everything. I'll get a chance to meet a lot of people that I've considered good friends for many years, but have never actually met face to face... I hope they're not disappointed.

    Re: Here in Chicago..

I live about 35 miles outside of Chicago. I am really excited about the Tinley show but the Sewerfest is good and it is quick run from Chicago. There is a small show every couple weeks at the Lake County Fair Grounds with all local breeders.

Last month there where some nice snakes there, carpet pythons, lots of Spider, Pastel balls (not a whole lot of expensive morphs though). They did have alot of geckos and corns

    * There is supposedly a semi private show in Lake Forest that my vet told me about in Sept. I will see if I can hunt down the guys phone number for you. My vet told me about this one, it is not open to the public like alot of other reptile shows but they have seminars and it is open to herp lovers on a semi invitation level

    Re: Here in Chicago..

I was about to post the same thing.
My burmese refused F/T and I now I will need a constant supply of rats if he continues to refuse.

I go to the Wheaton show but it's 30 minutes away and I have V8, 5$ entrance fee for a few meals?

And the Reptilehouse too is 30 minutes away or more

I bought my pastel from Mark Petros in Chicago. He usually has snakes for sale on kingsnake.

Scott Michaels, Mark Petros (ballpython777.com) and I'm on my way. Stan Ruppell is just across the WI border.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

    Re: Here in Chicago..

There are quite a few laws in Chicago from what I've heard. So a lot of them live outside Chicago. My buddy George Knaack (probably butchered his name) gets around 50 clutches per year. Mark Petros has some nice stuff. Brian Potter is a good guy. Dealt with him a couple times. Great store and breeding stock.
