    If I bought....

a female mojave and a male mojave and breed them together would I get a BEL?

If this is true why arent more people doing this?

    Sounds too easy.

Lots of people are growing there females up still cuz just a couple years ago mojaves were going for several grand, then throw into the mix that only 25 % of the offspring should be BEL (statistically speaking), and the super mojave bels aren't nearly as close to a solid white as if you throw in a butter super or lesser super, or mixture of the any white snake complex snakes.

You would get a chance of getting a BEL, if the snakes breed, if the female gets gravid and lays eggs, if incubation goes ok and the eggs hatch, if the BEL that you do get isn't deformed, if the BEL you do get isn't one of those that never gets started and slowly starves itself to death....

That's assuming you have the funds to buy a male & female mojave, and the desire to breed them.

Mojave as a morph was only proven in 2000, which probably means there were very few in existence at that time. Even with it being co-dom and you can produce relatively large numbers with one male and lots of normal females, it still means there aren't tons of them around yet.

When breeders get a hatchling, they have to choose between selling it for $$, or keeping it. If they keep it (or are one of the ones who bought one), they still have to decide between going for the super, or breeding their mojaves to other things to produce combo morphs.

So, yes, if you bought a male & female mojave and breed them once they are big enough, you most likely will have a BEL within 3 or 4 years from now. It isn't that hard. But there are still plenty of reasons why we don't have BELs coming out of our ears.
