Anyone know the differnce between Sable's and...

chocolates? Have there been any sable x chocolate breedings done? I am thinking about picking up a chocolate to breed with my female pin so I could eventually go for a camo ball, but if they are the same I was thinking I could save a lot of cash by going with a sable or even a super sable. I am thinking at the very least a super sable pin would look very similar to a camo ball.

Re: Anyone know the differnce between Sable's and...

Someone on kingsnake who has chocolates (can't remember if he said sable too) posted that he thought they might be a complex. I read that to mean different mutations of the same gene, like Lesser and Mojave. Don't know if anyone has crossed the lines and then bred the combo to know for sure.

I e-mailed in response to perhaps the same ad you saw for cheap sizable sable pairs to see if I could buy just a male to breed to my Garcia female but didn't hear back (and have since blown my mojave sale money on a double het pied albino male and a possible double het stripe albino male).

I was looking over pretty much every picture I could find online yesterday and it seems like some chocolates look a lot like sables and some have very little resemblance. I think I am probably going to pic up a male sable in Daytona. I figure they will be pretty cheap down there since it seems like the sables never really caught on the way some other morphs have. I have a pin female that will be ready to go this winter and I really am having a hard time nailing down what I want to breed to her. I bought her planning to make kingpins, but I am not that impressed with how the kingpins look when they are older. I loved tham as hatchlings.

My Sable is pretty interesting looking. I have yet to perfect my skills at picking out a Chocolate though..

I'm very curious to see if this will be another Mojave/Lesser/Butter thing or not...

That's a good looking sable. Did you produce any this year or is it a new project for you? Who did you buy from if you don't mind me asking?
