    Exclamation some feeding questions?

I'm kinda new to owning a BP....I feed my BP live mice and I take everything out of his cage then toss the mouse in. I have shredded cedar as my substrate and whenever he is trying to swallow the mouse some of the cedar sticks to the mouse. Is that going to hurt him if he ingests it? not sure if other people have the same issue ...am I suppose to put him in something else when I feed him?

Yah i've had that problem with my corn snake though but she managed it fine though it was only a small piece but it is best not to let her take some down with him/her it could be dangerous.

Glad to hear it's actually aspen, not cedar.

A small amount of ingestion of shredded aspen shouldn't hurt the snake at all. They have a digestive process that handles fur, bone, teet, etc. If you are concerned about it, however, you could simply place a pad of newspaper over the feeding area. Once the feeding is done and the snake has retreated back to it's hide, remove the newspaper layer.
