BD Won't eat any fruits or veggies?

We've had our BD for less than a week, he eats crickets and mealworms daily, but he won't touch any of the fruits or veggies that we put in his tank.

Any thoughts as to why he won't eat them, or ideas on how to get him to eat them?

Same thing with my dragons.Just put some in there with them and don't offer their live food for the first two days and it should work. When they figure it out they will usually keep eating them after that.

Re: BD Won't eat any fruits or veggies?

First off, get rid of the mealworms. They provide nothing healthy to your beardie and can impact him. Secondly, if he is young veggies and fruits will not interest him that much, and should not be a huge part of his diet anyways. He should be eating around 90% live, 10% salad( f&v's) and when he is an adult you switch up the %'s. So he should be eating around 40+ crickets a day, and a little bit of his salad. Try ordering some silkworms and keeping them in his salad, beardies love them and they are very good for them. I used them as my main stable. Just do not give up!! Hope this helps, Matt

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat
