    Heat pits on lower lip?

I always wondered if the pits on the bottom lip of ball pythons (or any python with heat pits) are also heat pits? And if so does anyone know if they are any different then the bigger pits on the top lip.
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about on my BP.

and a better picture (not mine) of an olive python showing what I'm pretty sure are heat pits on the lower lip. http://www.primareptilia.com/gallery...bi/Gunabibi_11
