    Dried Insects?

Anyone keep dried insect displays? I have tried my hand at pinning my own insects (beetles, moths, dragonflies) but never wanted to buy the nice equipment to get everything going so I haven't done anything in a while. I have a couple butterfly/beetle displays I have picked up though. I have made 4 myself that actually don't look bad but I gave them all away and do not have any pictures.

I also have a couple cool vases that insect people might like, my mom bought me 2 vases and a carved lucite bracelet from Laura Zindel (http://www.zindelceramics.com/) Check her out, she does snakes and birds too! Everything she does is beautiful, I might ask for some of her beetle/cicada stuff next christmas.

I think catching the bugs would be the fun part, however I'm sure some of them are hard to find and even harder to keep in good quality while you pin them.

I like the work on the vases and the bracelet!

When I pinned I would only pin dried insects that I was able to buy for cheap off e-bay (since it was for practice) and dead/dying bugs I found around. I wouldn't have the heart to kill any really pretty healthy ones that would actually look nice pinned lol
Those vases are my favorite decorations, the bracelet is scary though - its really hard to get on/off and I am terrified of anything like that getting stuck on me
