Can all Ball pythons be switched to f/t eventually?
Ive had my ball for two and a half years. Shes always eaten live and never accepted frozen. She is a wild caught snake. I would kill for her to eat frozen but she just wont take them. she gets very interested from the smell but has yet to actually take one. Should I just give up and keep her on live?
My real question is, are there any ball pythons out there that are just impossible to switch over, or am I just giving up too fast.
She eats live rats anywhere from 45-120grams. Occasionally takes live mice. To show you how picky she is , she only eats rats from the pet store I work at, she refuses ones from other stores.
sorry this is all over the place.

How are you offering the frozen rats?
Some like you to move it around and some like you to toss it in. Some like it with the lights off at night and some like it in the day..
The worst snake I have takes 30 minutes of me putting on a rat puppet show in near total darkness.. I put in a live rat and its gone in 10 seconds.
It can be tricky to get them feeding on F/T. Also have you tried a fresh killed rat?

Yeah, it's all up to the individual snake. I have two adult females that were taking PK(pre-killed) small rats. My biggest girl has snatched up two FT rats now, quite eagerly, while the smaller of the two refused to take the one I tried offering her tonight (first try). She IS rather fussy, tho, and likes her rats to be fresh and totally still before she'll take them. I had her going well on PK and decided to try her out on FT. I'm going to try four weeks, and if after a month she still won't take them I'll just accept that she wants PK.
At least she's on rats...I have three other BPs that I have to try and switch to rats before I try them on FT...what fun.
Just keep trying by offering nothing else for a few weeks. Make sure the thawed prey is really really warmed up right before offering, so they sense that heat. Usually they get hungry enough to try it and then see that it's food and continue taking it. Usually.
