no clue where i should put this but bred a ball to angolan??
i don't know if it should go breeding, morph, or other python so sorry
but at first look they look alot alike at first look then looking closer they are different but has any one mixed these to up i know people don't like to do that just like they don't care for blood mixed balls but there colors are so different i just wanted to know if you could has it been done and why don't more ppl do that i mean i guess ppl would say well then its not a ball python but look at it from the big picture and not being ones side if ppl acted like that all the time then we would only have black white (lack of better word) yellow people but yes with mixing the gene's of a human we have so many different looking people why not snakes i bet if it was done right over time you could get a blood ball and slowly with smart breeding push out the blood python genes so you are left with a insane ball with the build of a ball
just wanted to know what you all thought

LONGEST run on sentance ever. lol
But yes, they have been crossed. Not a fan of those sorts of hybrids myself.
As to the human race analogy, it's completely different. We are all the same species, angolan and balls are not. Neither are balls and bloods... Although the second generation super ball has been made by Roussis I believe.

I think some periods and commas would have helped a whole lot with reading that post.
Humans are the same species, what you're referring to is when people of different races mix, big difference. Ball Pythons and Angolans are not the same species of python. There are many threads on all the ethical, moral, and personal issues with Hybrids on this forum already. Try the search function if you're truly interested.
Edit: Slow work fingers here...darn you Connie

Since the cross works you can be sure that the offspring of these crosses are born sterile and is the end of the line. you are buying a unique snake but you will not be able to breed it stopping the idea mixing the bloodline

Think of races of people like morphs of ball pythons... You can mix them up all you want.... Hybrids would be like mating Humans and Gorillas.....

Re: no clue where i should put this but bred a ball to angolan??
yea after thinking about i got it mixed up in my head. i was separating body types (how tall or short fat or thin) and color's (black, white) and looking at them as species don't know why... know why would they be sterile??? i mean i have a hybrid bobcat and mainecoon and hes not sterile cause he got the lady behind us cat. its is so our cat it has the markings of a bobcat add the light grey color ours does. but i guess i was just letting my mind run (it wasn't for people like me we wouldn't have anything i guess) but idk. i just didn't think of them as different just with physical different like say a natural big and tall black guy to a thinner shorter Asian (no offense to any one) i mean to the look there different but most things are the same.. sorry mind running again.

The Complete Ball Python states that they are not sterile, it has pics of the angolan x ball cross, then the next page a angolan ball x ball python and it states "A ball python x Angolan Python hybrid crossed back to a Ball Python, validating that this hybrid is not sterile." that cross is also called "Angry Balls"....

Re: no clue where i should put this but bred a ball to angolan??
the reason that the offspring would be sterile is because of a nonmatch in the number of chromosomes but even in that there is still possibilities of non sterile offspring take mules for instance there are a few reported cases of nonsterile mules only females though and when mated to a male horse ( since there is no possibility of a nonsterile male mule) will produce a 100% horse foal.. so given that even if you were lucky enough to get some offspring from your hybrids that werent sterile chances are that if you mated it you would only be able to mate it back to one species or the other that was its parents successfully and end up with a 100% in that given direction... (did that make any sense? lol) but then again that is with mammals and we are talking about reptiles here.....

I saw one at N.E.R.D. It was pretty cool, if you ask me. Personally, I would rather have a full blooded angolan over a mix though.
