Babies under the newspaper?

Let them! Its there way of burrowing/hiding.

Dito Justins comment.. even my 1700+gram girls do it My mojave male does it even though he has a perfectly good black hide available. I wouldnt worry about it, perfectly normal behavior

It can be annoying but it's really no big deal. :]

Same thing here. Some just enjoy the newspaper rather than a hide.. ? I have a few snakes where I've taken the hide out all together b/c it's as useless as giving them carrots to much on
If thats what makes them happy, eat, grow, etc.... then so be it

Yep we have some that will burrow under anything (newspaper, aspen, whatever) no matter if their temps are perfect, they've got a lovely empty hide sitting there....they just like to burrow I guess. I don't normally mind except the ones on newspaper that managed to go under the newspaper and flip their water bowl in the process.
