    Where to place Tstat probe?

I just got my flex watt today and I installed it in the rack I just built and got it all foil taped but I was just wondering where to tape the probe down to so that it doesnt effect the tub...

Re: Where to place Tstat probe?

I put the thermostat probe inside the rack but not in a tub. Put a temp guage probe in a tub and go off that. The thermostat might read 94 degrees but the temp probe inside the actual rack where the animal comes into contact may read 90 degrees. Just make sure the thermostat probe doesn't come loose or it may overheat the rack...

Hope that made sense...I've had several Stone IPA's...
    Lucifer Sam, Siam cat...
    Always sitting by your side,
    Always by your side...
    That cat's something I can't explain...

Tape the probe directly to the heat tape in the very corner of one of the shelves. The tubs i use are slightly tapered (sp?) so there is a 1/2 inch gap between the base of the tub and the side of the shelf where the probe won't effect the tub sliding in and out.

yeah the tubs Im using are 41 qt sterilite sweater boxes and they are tapered, so I should tape the probe on the corner of the flex watt?

Yup. I found that the very corner of the shelf, where it butts up with the wall, is the best place because the tup never come near it when your pulling it in and out.
