    getting eggs away from female???

I was just wondering how most people do this with out getting tagged, other than nate's style of calling mandy.

lay a pillow case lightly over the top of her and then pick her up wrapped in it. As soon as she is in your hands she will no longer be agressive.

    Works great.

Re: getting eggs away from female???

Granted our experience isn't much, just three females so far this year but basically we just put on gloves and got the female out of there being careful to not upset her and get her thrashing about or disturbing the eggs. Some of them hissed a bit but not much more than that and as Justin said, they pretty much calmed down as soon as they were off their eggs.

I like that pillowcase idea though. I'll note that down. Thanks Justin!

pillowcase works great! I did that when my Het albino girl had eggs. She is not a very "nice" snake...

Pillow cases or any cloth to cover them up work fine, but Balls aren't the quickest snakes and you should be fine just distracting them with one hand and reaching around from the back and grabbing their head. Once you have their head, grab their body and gently unwrap them from their clutch. It helps to have someone else there in case your snake has a fit and thrashes around, but usually they just come right off with minimal effort.

If I sense there is gonna be some action I throw cover her with a towel and gently lift her off, like Justin said once they are off they are fine.

    Bare handed for me!

Granted, I've only taken three girls off eggs, but it was relatively un-eventful.

For most of mine -- they haven't been all that bad about me just reaching in and unwinding them -- the ones that are pissers I use a towel over their head -- but they don't settle down for me until they are washed and in a clean tub.
