Re: 08 clutch # 3
I believe Heather had some that only showed half veins, not sure how they turned out. I had a kicked out one that hatched out fine.

Re: 08 clutch # 3
Im hoping I caught them in time. About 4 this afternoon I caught her laying them. She only had 2 out at the time. At about 11:30 tonight I got home and the rest were out. She was not coiled around them to well. Also when I took her tub out she went flying off the eggs like she was trying to get away from them. No hissing or trying to bite me like last year. Anyways guess Ill have to wait and see.

Re: 08 clutch # 3
I have had about 4 kick outs so far this year. I lost one, one hatched, and the other two are incubating nicely. I would say most of the time they do fine, if they candled nicely. As for the half vein egg, that is about a 50/50 shot. 50% of the time they reabsorb the veins and die, and the other half the time, the veins start to "grow", and you will see a bunch more veins after about 10-14 days, and it will hatch fine. Just keep an eye on those 2 eggs, and give them a little extra TLC if they show signs of deterioration.
I like Adam's term for it "Egg Maintenance Plan". I think that says it best. When implemented, a good egg maintenance plan can help alot of eggs that need some extra care.

Thanks Ill have to keep an eye on them see how they do. The kicked out one did have good strong veins. So guess Ill see what happens. Last year she was a really good mom. Did the hissing thing and the biting thing when I tried to get her off the eggs. She wasnt like that this time. Also was coiled up nicely around the eggs. But not this year. In the pictures thats how she was coiled around them when I found her. The eggs were a little cool,so I hope they all make it. Thanks again

Re: 08 clutch # 3
kick outs usually hatch for me. In fact this season I had a new experience. One egg was laid 5 days before the rest of the clutch. The female left it on the far side of the cage all lonesome. I was sure there was no way it would hatch, but right now there's a cute little spider nose sticking out of it!

Re: 08 clutch # 3
Thanks.
Well so far they are all looking good. The kicked out one started to get a window. Then a few days later it went away. Not sure what that was all about. They all look good so far. The half veined one has good strong veins around the whole egg now. So that one is looking good. Now I just have to stop checking on them. I havent produced alot of baby balls over the past 5 or 6 years. 1 clutch here 2 here and so on. But I have hatched enough babies to know that I dont need to check on them every hour of the day, and its still hard. I dont know how the bigger breeders dont live in their incubators during hatching time.
Anyways just a little update on the kicked out one and the half veined one. They seam to be doing fine.
