Why not just keep them on mice?

Feed them what they will eat.

Yep - Some just won't switch no matter what you try...I'm not a mouse eater fan myself but I do have a few that just won't make the switch so they get lots of mice every week...

Try soaking him and then feeding.

Here are the possible case scenarios

BP switch to rat in one feeding

BP switch to rats but it take weeks (if your BP are a good body weight you need to practice tough love)

BP will not switch (I have 4 like that it happens)

So be patient and if they do not switch feed what work!

Handling a BP before feeding can already be stressful enough to lead to a refusal, so soaking a BP prior to feeding is definitely not recommended.

    Try scenting the rat.

Take the rat and put it into a container and fill it with a bunch of *used* mouse bedding. Get the rat all covered in the mouse bedding and then take the rat and try feeding it off to a picky mouse eater.

I heard rubbing it against a gerbil works too.
