i could be wrong but, i'm pretty sure if you used tongs and made the F/T rodent do a dance like it was alive it would be much more appealing than just a lump of pink non moving stuff... i have no experience with this but just from watching all the videos i've seen on various sites and through youtube, i dont' see ANYONE dropping a F/T rodent in a cage and having their BP go after it like it was dinner time. you have to make it look alive i guess??

    hope that helps!

I use tongs after heating the prey with a hair dryer and do the feeding dance about 3 inches from the snakes head, I do however have one snake that will not eat anything dead, Ive tried sooo many times. Im not sure what it is but she knows its different

    Re: Funny Feed

i've fed live since i got my BP and i honestly don't think he'd care either way... i just feel like live is more natural, but i bet f/t is easier for owners could you maybe ask your local petstore to SAVE you the correct sized rat once a week (or however often you'd be buying it....) so that when it comes time to feed your snake you have the right stuff?

    thats what i did!!!

    Hi,

Actually my big fat butt female will eat from the floor no problem.

I do tend to wave it at the entrance of her hide so she knows it is there but then I just lay it on the floor on the cool side of the tub and it'll be gone by the morning.

Every bp's different, my male will sometimes eat off the floor no problem, sometimes I have to make it dance, and sometimes he strikes so hard before I even get the mouse on the floor. Do whatever works best.
