Question for Animal Plastics Cage owners

For those of you with AP's that have sliding doors, is the lock there to keep the snake in or just to keep others out? In other words do you think a snake could open the door if it wasn't locked?

I think my BP definitely could push the door open if it wasn't shut all the way. I don't usually use the locks though unless I am having company.

You ever seen your snake rub against the walls or glass? I sure have and this would keep them from opening and keep people from opening them as well.

I wasn't clear on that either. I wasn't sure if there was some sort of a latch that would keep the snake in and the lock was only to keep people out. I just ordered the lock anyways to play it safe.

good on your part, I don't think that glass will keep a good size snake with escape on his mind in there. Just from watching m coastal in there it is pretty clear to me without the locks they would more than likely be on the loose.

Yeah idk about that though...my JCP, over 6ft, is always pressing against the glass and doesn't move the glass at all whatsoever. The glass is quite heavy so maybe a VERY determined snake well over 6ft (and remember, the bigger the snake, the bigger the cage, the heavier the glass) could open the doors.
I only lock my doors when gone for several days.

    Hope this helped
