    Accurite Thermometers from Walmart

I tried buying one fo those recommended accurites today but I don't think it was the right kind. It was marked as an "indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer/hygrometer" by accurite for $20 on the small one and $30 for the big one. Both of them had "wireless" receivers that are basically just plastic walky talky lookin things instead of the usual wire and probe. Are these of any use for judging surface temps with a UTH?

If you put the wireless "probe" where you want to read, it should work afaik

The ones with the wires are cheaper.
