*sigh* Day 63
Day 63 and still nobodies hatching. The one I slit yesterday hasn't made an appearance even. Not sure whether to be hopeful that they are still alive.
Do you guys make those big skylit slits in your eggs because it releases more of the ooze and forces them to take their first breath? I just cut an incision running the length of the top and not much ooze came out. I want to slit them all opened just so I know if there's hope or not... but my family keeps giving me grief that it's not natural.... I just don't know what to do.

Re: *sigh* Day 63
If its really day 63 and they haven't slit them selves yet I'd say slit them they may have drowned trying to get out. On a side note what temp are you incubating at?

I think you should cut them now.
I have my clutch hatch and they didn't come out till a few days.
Just put a light up on the egg to see where the babys at and pinch the top and make a slit.
Good luck with the clutch!

Re: *sigh* Day 63
My temp has been regularly between 88.5 and 89.5 with the occasional dip below or above, but nothing detrimental. They were laid April 29... if you do the math I think you'll arrive at day 63

Re: *sigh* Day 63
Have you tried prodding them with something soft like a pencil eraser? You should see some movement. Sometimes they do take a while to emerge and get going, especially if you check on them often. If they're okay just keep their environment humid, quiet and dark. They'll come out before you know it.

Re: *sigh* Day 63
I just slit everybody and did do some prodding and I got some movement! Woohoo! I'm getting the incubator back to temperature right now. Also, I got some bubbles... does that mean they'e breathing?

Re: *sigh* Day 63
Maybe happy endings do come true! The best part is that the three that had some problems earlier in the incubation process due to a mishap, were the most aggressive movers! I just put a little dish of water in there to give a bit of a boost to the humidity. Hope they get their little heads a pipping soon!

Re: *sigh* Day 63
What temperature were you incubating at? Cooler temp = longer incubation period
